Black Sustainability, Inc. is taking things into our own hands.

Black Sustainability, Inc. is unapologetically committed to sustainable, liberated, lifelong learning communities. We envision African people living in sovereign communities dedicated to returning to the ways of their ancestors, living in harmony with nature, growing their own food and using the natural energies of air, fire, water and the earth to thrive.

Our organization wants to provide funding and other resources to member-led sustainability projects, kicking things off with 10 projects. These projects will be focused on climate action in communities disproportionately affected by climate change, increasing green jobs and contracts for Black experts in sustainability, and restorative agriculture.

Sustainability can mean many different things, so we outlined our core focus areas, called Industry Houses, to maximize the good we can do within the African diaspora. The 10 Industry Houses identified focus on a diverse set of topics such as eco-housing, community development, education & cultural preservation, and alternative economics.

Each Industry House has regular digital gatherings via zoom where issues, opportunities and desired collective outcomes will be discussed. Each meeting crowdsources regional challenges and has an open floor where participants will work on solutions.

The Education & Cultural preservation Industry House is focused on sustainable development practices rooted in an African-centered worldview. Our liberation as a people, is uncovering truths and standing firm in wisdom rooted in our culture.

The Community Development House explores urban sprawl and development trends from members who are designing and developing community spaces. Its aim is to reduce pollution & environmental degradation through designing innovative solutions should as EV Car Cooperatives and sustainable employment.

All the Industry Houses are built around the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, which provide a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet.
